Ang Ah Tee was born in Singapore in 1943 and graduated from the distinguished Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 1962. Traveling across continents, he did a series of sketching, painting expeditions. His style of painting evolves from time to time but is always characterised by his random brush strokes and forceful palette knife technique which he applies speedily and instinctively. Unwittingly, he had mounted on an awe-inspiring personal odyssey.

He has held nine solo exhibitions and his works had been exhibited in various countries. His talent was recognized in 1977 when he was awarded the National Day Art Award by the Ministry of Culture, Singapore. In the same year, due to his passion towards painting, he became a full-time artist.

Working spontaneously and traveling widely in search of inspiration and looking for new subjects to paint. Hi semi-abstraction in expression of art form in recent years has entered a new era; that of combining western elements with Chinese ink strokes.
